Cleaning Checklist - Moving Office

It can be hard, not to mention exhausting, when you move office, especially if you're not hiring help. However, you can make it alot easier for yourself, simply by organising the cleaning and creating a checklist to work through.

Come to the end of your tenancy agreement and getting ready to move office?  Then you will understand how big the cleaning job is.  By organising the cleaning and creating a checklist to work through, there is little chance of you missing anything, and hopefully a better chance of receiving your full deposit back.

A FEW TIPS TO CONSIDER BEFORE CREATING YOUR PLAN/CHECKLIST:

•    Start from the top and work your way down to the bottom.  If you have multiple floors start from the top floor - in individual rooms work from the ceiling down.
•    Create a plan of all the jobs to be done, then create a checklist of all the products you need.
•    Get everyone involved and dedicate a job to each person or room to a team.  Make a party out of it, order in some food and ensure there are enough refreshments for everyone; having this incentive will encourage people to lend a helping hand.

Need help with creating a checklist?  Here is a general list of all the rooms you may need to clean, with a guide to the cleaning products required:

GENERAL:

1.    Wash all the windows, window sills, curtain tracks, blinds and window tracks in the interior and exterior.  CLICK HERE FOR SOME WINDOW CLEANING SUPPLIES YOU MAY NEED
2.    Wash the front and inside of all doors; depending on the type of door, this job can usually be done using a MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER.  Otherwise use a GLASS CLEANER for glass doors or POLISH for wooden doors.
3.    All marks on the walls should be washed and nails removed.
4.    Clean the carpet with a VACUUM CLEANER and a CARPET SHAMPOO.  Wash any vinyl or tiled floors with the appropriate FLOOR CLEANING PRODUCTS.
5.    Clean any light fixtures and replace any burnt out bulbs, ready for the next tenants.

KITCHEN:

1.    Clean inside and outside of all cupboards and clean counter tops.
2.    Clean the inside and outside of the dishwasher, clean the sink (CLICK HERE FOR A RANGE OF HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS TO HELP YOU COMPLETE THIS TASK) and drains with a drain cleaner.
3.    Move the fridge from the wall; clean the inside of the fridge, taking out all drawers and shelves, and leave to dry.  This can be done with a MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER.
4.    As the fridge is drying clean the walls and floor as in number 4 above.
5.    If you have a freezer, defrost it and clean.
6.    Clean the floor, making sure to clean under movable appliances.

BATHROOMS:

1.    Wash down all tiles with a BATHROOM CLEANER.
2.    Clean the sinks, REMOVE GROUT DIRT AND MOULD, and then clean the doors and any fixtures.
3.    Clean the inside and outside of the toilet with a TOILET CLEANER AND DESCALER.
4.    Wash any mirrors with a GLASS CLEANER and scrub the floor.

LAST JOB:  Remove all rubbish from the premises.
